At first I thought the Planetary was a team of evil doers, trying to steal secrets from The Authority. Or trying to profit from their super-abilities but choose to operate covertly. But apparently they are out to save the world.
There’s a hint of some conspiracy (“who’s the fourth man?”). Later volumes will reveal the truth.
Hint: The “snowman” is the key to it all.
